Welcome to the Basement!
Hi, I’m Anna Maughan, a poet based in Bristol, SW England.
On this website you’ll find a collection of my poetry, as well as some readings. If you’d like to be kept up-to-date with my work you can sign up on the about page.
I am passionate about open and honest dialogue regarding mental health; there is still such a blanket of shame smothering the topic and so many of us fight a battle just to keep ourselves alive.
Thank you for reading me, hope to meet you on a Bristol open mic night at some point.
Anna.
Exciting news! I’m delighted to tell you that i’ve put together a pamphlet of my work!
To the Mountain is a journey from despair, through love and pain, toward hope and serenity. It is informed by my struggles with mental illness and I strive to write as honestly as I can. I hope that, despite the darkness of some of the subject matter, the end result is uplifting.
The pamphlet is available for £7.50 including postage and packaging.
Payment by Paypal, drop me a line if you want one!
